about the podcast

I started this podcast because I believe in the power of dialogue. How people fight their battles, the lessons they learn from struggles and channeling growth through the process of self-actualization, training their Mental Muscle - their stories were extremely helpful during my fight against cancer. This platform will (hopefully) be a source of inspiration for many fighting their own battles and work on mental agility and emotional resilience.

To cultivate resilience is a skill, so is developing adaptability. Both have been crucial tools in my life throughout my own battles - sexual assaults, teenage abortion, suicide attempts, drug abuse, depression, anxiety disorder, body dysmorphia, cancer, pneumonia, PTSD and early-onset menopause. That’s certainly not a list to boast about and I’m certainly not alone. I just can’t help but wonder, if I had access to what we have today back then, some events could very well be different, like suicide.

I could have easily use any of those events to dictate who I am today as a victim, or I can choose to see those events as opportunities to build the skills I need to survive, and thrive. Perspective.

What to expect from Tackling Minds? Thought-provoking and raw conversations with folks in the health and fitness industry - from practitioners to coaches, competitors to CEOs - to professionals in mental and sexual health - I’m curious as to what makes people hungry for life and what empowers them. Breaking barriers of small talk, no topics too taboo or risque, I’m out to seek the truth in people beyond skin-deep.

As the podcast developed, I am now is Series 2 where it’s dedicated entirely to meeting men where they’re at, acceptance and unlocking emotional strength. This is also aligned with Mental Muscle, where I envision a world where we’re compassionately connected, strongly united and powerfully self-aware.

I hope you’ll enjoy this journey as much as I do! I appreciate every form of support, starting as simple as Subscribing :) Thank you!
